Platelet Rich Plasma

Platelet Rich Plasma, also known as PRP, is plasma and concentrated platelets that come from the patient’s own blood through a simple blood draw. These platelets contain growth factors and proteins that initiate and accelerate tissue repair and regeneration as well as recruit stem cells for assistance in the healing process. This provides connective tissue healing including tendon, ligament and joint repair and regeneration, development of new blood vessels and initiation of the body’s innate healing response.

On average, PRP requires 1-3 rounds of treatment, each spaced one month apart, to get the full benefits although some have resulted from just one injection, depending upon the degree of injury.
